Frequently Asked Questions
What are the benefits of using a valet service?
Traditional car washes are ineffective at cleaning your car thoroughly, and do in fact force any dirt and grime into the crevices of your vehicle - similar to brushing the dirt from a floor under a rug!
Our valet service is designed to enhance the appearance of and to restore and maintain as new a finish to your vehicle as is possible.
How much will it cost?
Kens Cars will endeavour to view any vehicle to give an accurate estimate of the service best suited to your vehicle. If we are unable to view the vehicle you will be asked a number of questions to give us an idea of the condition and the length of time we need to spend on it.
When can you fit me in?
This is a common question. Our diary schedule normally runs 2 weeks in advance, but we do operate a cancellation system. Please call early to avoid disappointment.
Do I need to be present when you valet my vehicle?
No all you need to do is drop your vehicle off, say on your way to work, then pick it up on your way home Simple! You can even borrow our free Courtesy Car, so there really is no hassle to you.
What if it rains?
Rains not actually a problem for us, as we have a large workshop area, so your valet can still go ahead whatever the weather.
How long will it take?
It depends on the level of service you have chosen. Please see times on the individual valet pages. These times are based on two operatives working on your vehicle.
My paintwork has lost all its shine. Can I get the shine back?
Yes, we will use a product that will restore the paintwork as near to its original colour if not totally back to new. The result achieved will, however, depend on how extensive the fading is. Please be aware that this service is not provided as standard on the valet services offered, but will be priced on an individual basis.
Do you use T-Cut for paintwork restoration?
No, we use a paint restorer. However using this would be the last possible action we would take as there is an alternative product we can use that will restore your shine.
I park under trees and my car is covered in sap/bird lime. Is this harmful, and how do I remove it?
Tree sap/bird lime embeds itself into your car paintwork and leaves an uneven finish and can even burn the bodywork. This is difficult, and in some cases impossible, to remove completely, but can be diminished with our special polishes. This is not provided as standard within the valets offered, but priced individually.
I'm looking to sell my car, which is the most appropriate valet to choose?
As with all customers, we will discuss your individual requirements but typically the 'Luxury Valet' is the service that will ensure your car is gleaming inside and out for potential buyers.
Do you offer special rates for regular bookings?
Yes we do consider discounts for regular bookings, and Loyalty Discout Cards are available.
I have never had a valet service - which is the most appropriate?
If your car is less than 3 years old, a standard or executive valet is likely to be sufficient in the majority of cases. For cars older than this, a full luxury valet is most suited. Of course, how often you used the care and the mileage you do will impact on it's current condition, as will previous cleaning techniques.
